Grammy Award winners return to Maui

 KAHULUI – Recording artists Sterling Seaton, George Kahumoku Jr.,
Richard Ho‘opi‘i and Peter deAquino celebrate their
Grammy-winning CD upon arrival Monday afternoon at Kahului Airport.
Kahumoku and his fellow musicians on the “Treasures of
Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar” album were honored Sunday at the
Los Angeles Convention Center.
Kahumoku saluted Valley Isle fans for their support and said he was
grateful that he and his colleagues brought the Grammy to Maui for
the third straight year for their albums recorded at weekly Napili
Kai Beach Resort concerts. “We’re lucky we won,” he said.
He received the Grammy-nominee medal and will receive the trophy in
the months to come.
